A convenient cyanide-free “one-pot” synthesis of nido-Me3N-7-CB10H12 and nido-7-CB10H13−

TL;DR: In this paper, the 11B NMR spectrum of nido-tBuMeHN-7-CB10H12 is explored as a function of pH, demonstrating exchange with nido tBuMeN- 7-CB 10H12−.

Chemistry of Carba- closo -decaborate Anions [CB 9 H 10 ] – (Review)

TL;DR: The state of the art of the chemistry of carba-closo-decaborate anions [1-CB9H10]− and [2-CB 9H10]- including their synthesis, substitution reactions of hydrogen atoms at carbon and boron atoms, as well as interconversion of various functional derivatives, is considered in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Halogen derivatives of monocarbon carboranes, nido-7-Me3N-7-CB10H12, closo-2-Me3N-2-CB10H10 and closo-1-Me3N-1-CB11H11‡

TL;DR: Palladium catalysed substitution of iodine resulted in the nido and closo derivatives closo-8-CH2CHCH2-2-Ph-1-Me-3N- 1-CB11H9 and nido-4- CH2CH CH2-7-Me 3N- 7-CB10H11, which rationalise a mechanism for the boron insertion reactions.

Ten-vertex monocarbaborane chemistry. Synthesis of carbon-substituted ligand derivatives 1-L-closo-1-CB9H9 and crystal and molecular structure of 1-(Me3N)-closo-1-CB9H9

TL;DR: In this article, the monocarbaborane ligand derivative (1-(H3N)-closo-1-CB9H9) has been isolated in 75% yield from the reaction between 6-(H 3N)-nido-6-CB 9H11 and Et3N·BH3 in tetrahydrofuran in the presence of NaBH4.
