Multivariate tempered stable additive subordination for financial models

Abstract We study a class of multivariate tempered stable distributions and introduce the associated class of tempered stable Sato subordinators. These Sato subordinators are used to build additive inhomogeneous processes by subordination of a multiparameter Brownian motion. The resulting process is additive and time inhomogeneous and it is a generalization of multivariate Lévy processes with good fit properties on financial data. We specify the model to have unit time normal inverse Gaussian distribution and we discuss the ability of the model to fit time inhomogeneous correlations on real data. read more

The fine structure of asset returns: an empirical investigation
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the importance of diffusion and jumps in a new model for asset returns and concluded that the statistical and risk-neutral processes for equity prices are pure jump processes of infinite activity and finite variation.

The Variance Gamma (V.G.) Model for Share Market Returns

TL;DR: In this paper, a new stochastic process, termed the variance gamma process, is proposed as a model for the uncertainty underlying security prices, which is normal conditional on a variance, distributed as a gamma variate.

Tempering stable processes

Self-decomposability and option pricing
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated six different processes in this general class and showed that all six models are capable of adequately synthesizing European option prices across the spectrum of strikes and maturities at a point of time.

Bilateral gamma distributions and processes in financial mathematics
Uwe Küchler,Stefan Tappe +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, a class of Levy processes for modeling financial market fluctuations, namely bilateral Gamma processes, is presented. But the authors focus on the properties of bilateral Gamma distributions and do not consider the relationship between the two processes.
