Two-stage electrostatic precipitators for the reduction of PM2.5 particle emission

TL;DR: In this paper, the two-stage electrostatic precipitator was used for the removal of fly ash particles from the flue gases produced by coal-fired boilers in power plants.

Hybrid electrostatic filtration systems for fly ash particles emission control. A review

TL;DR: In this paper, various hybrid electrostatic filtration systems have been reviewed and their performances compared with respect to the collection efficiency, pressure drop and dust cake dislodging, and the results showed that these constructions can increase the removal efficiency for PM2.5 particles.

Design and optimization of electrostatic fluid accelerators

TL;DR: In this paper, numerical simulation and experimental results of electrostatic fluid accelerators are presented for the purpose of optimizing device characteristics through the control of the electric field distribution, and a method to quantify the change in pump performance between different voltage distributions is presented.

Two-stage electrostatic precipitator with co- and counter-flow particle prechargers

TL;DR: In this article, two types of electrostatic particle prechargers were compared with respect to the collection efficiency of the system: (1) co-flow precharger, in which ionic current was generated co-currently with the gas conveying the particles, and (2) counter-flow recharging pre-chargeer, which was generated oppositely to the flowing gas.

Optimization of the rapping process of an intermittent electrostatic precipitator

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a procedure based on the methodology of experimental designs aiming at optimizing the rapping process; it consists to determine optimal values of rapping, i.e. the moment, the position and the force.

Diffusion of Submerged Jets

TL;DR: As the direct result of turbulence generated at the borders of a submerged jet, the fluid within the jet will undergo both lateral diffusion and deceleration, and at the same time fluid from the su...

Particle transport in electrostatic precipitators

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors discussed the transport of particles in a precipitator due to the combined effects of mobility and eddy diffusion in the gas flow, and showed that the efficiency can be significantly higher than the Deutsch value, and that by improving gas flow quality to minimize turbulence, significant reductions of precipitators length could be achieved.
