New Constraint of Clustering for AMD and Its Application to the Study of the 2α-12C Structure of 20Ne

TLDR
It is shown that the constraint in the AMD+GCM calculation is effective for the purpose of obtaining the K π =0 + band, which contains the 2α- 12 C structure as an important component.
Abstract
A new constraint of clustering for the AMD calculation is proposed. This constraint yields a significant improvement in the investigation of the cluster structure using AMD, which sometimes meets with difficulty in producing certain specific cluster configurations. The usefulness of this constraint is verified by applying it to the the study of the K π =0 + band of 20 Ne, which has been conjectured to have 2α- 12 C structure. This band is not easy to construct with AMD. We show that the constraint in the AMD+GCM calculation is effective for the purpose of obtaining the K π =0 + band, which contains the 2α- 12 C structure as an important component.

Microscopic clustering in light nuclei

TL;DR: In most nuclei, protons and neutrons are smoothly distributed throughout the nuclear volume. Exceptions to this rule are molecularlike states, especially in light nuclei where light nuclear clusters such as alpha particles are present as discussed by the authors.

Simplified modeling of cluster-shell competition

TL;DR: In this article, a simple model to describe cluster-shell competition is proposed, where only one parameter (ensuremath{\Lambda}) is added to the wave function to describe the asymptotic transition of two valence neutrons from a di-neutron to independent particles when the contribution of the spin-orbit interaction is taken into account.

Anatomy of molecular structures in 20 Ne

TL;DR: In this paper, the dynamical correlation effects of symmetry restoration and quadrupole octupole shapes fluctuation are taken into account with projections on parity, particle number and angular momentum in the framework of the generator coordinate method.

Coexistence of cluster states and mean-field-type states

TL;DR: In this paper, the actual coexistence features of cluster states and mean-field-type states in nuclei are reviewed and the nuclear structure changes from shell-model-like ground state to cluster states.

Antisymmetrized Molecular Dynamics: a new insight into the structure of nuclei

TL;DR: In this paper, the AMD theory for nuclear structure is explained by showing its actual applications, and the results of applications of AMD to unstable nuclei, from which they see that AMD is powerful in elucidating and understanding various types of nuclear structure of unstable nuclear nuclei.
