Paper: Some design guidelines for discrete-time adaptive controllers

TLDR
A linearization analysis of a nonlinear adaptive controller is used to demonstrate analytically some design guidelines which alleviate some of the problems associated with adaptive control in the presence of unmodeled dynamics.

Digital control of dynamic systems

TL;DR: Digital Control Of Dynamic Systems This well-respected, market-leading text discusses the use of digital computers in the real-time control of dynamic systems with an emphasis on the design of digital controls that achieve good dynamic response and small errors while using signals that are sampled in time and quantized in amplitude.
Journal ArticleDOI

Adaptive feedback control

TL;DR: Early ideas which primarily attempt to compensate for gain variations and more general methods like gain scheduling, model reference adaptive control, and self-tuning regulators are reviewed.

Adaptive Feedback Control

TL;DR: Adaptive control is now finding its way into the marketplace after many years of effort as discussed by the authors, and it is shown that adaptive control laws can be obtained using stochastic control theory.

A Perspective on Adaptive Control of Power Systems

TL;DR: In this paper, the status of adaptive control theory in electrical power systems control is reviewed and current mechanisms and methods of electrical power system control are examined, including adaptive generator exciter control and adaptive load-frequency control.

Identification for long-range predictive control

TL;DR: In this article, a multi-step-ahead cost for parameter estimation is introduced as a dual of the control law, and the frequency response properties of this estimator indicate that prefiltering of the data prevalent among the reported successful applications of the predictive controller is a natural outcome of this choice of the estimator scheme.

Discrete-time multivariable adaptive control

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors established global convergence for a class of adaptive control algorithms applied to discrete time MIMO deterministic linear systems and showed that the algorithms will ensure that the system inputs and outputs remain bounded for all time and that the output tracking error converges to zero.
