TLDR
In this article, the performance of a space-based radar (SBR) using pulse Doppler to suppress the earth clutter is investigated using a heuristic description of clutter as seen from a SBR.
Abstract
The paper presents some general principles related to the performance of a space-based radar (SBR) using pulse Doppler to suppress the earth clutter These principles are developed using a heuristic description of clutter as seen from a space-based radar, and illustrated by means of a case study It is demonstrated that SBR performance varies with look direction and that clear areas exist in the clutter spectrum, where targets can be easily detected Also, velocity compensation techniques can be employed to enhance detection for certain look directions

Selected list of references on radar signal processing

TL;DR: In this article, the authors collected almost 700 references in a single document to facilitate their work and the work of other colleagues of the radar community, and the collection of references is by no means exhaustive; the period of screening mainly covers the last two decades.

Effect of earth's rotation and range foldover on space-based radar performance

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of the rotation of the Earth around its own axis on the Doppler frequency is investigated and a detailed performance analysis and methods to minimize these effects are discussed.

Design of a space-based radar signal processor

TL;DR: The algorithmic definitions of the signalprocessing functions are provided; the relationships between these functions and the reasons for their location in the signal processing chain are discussed and techniques for reducing the computational requirements are presented.

An approach to multistatic spaceborne SAR/MTI processing and performance analysis

TL;DR: A sub-optimum approach for multistatic spaceborne moving target detection based on the exploitation of the covariance matrix describing the common statistical properties of the random vector composed of a selected number of resolution cells in the range-Doppler-space for all sensor channels is proposed.
