A measurement of the angular distribution and yield of fission fragments from photofission of238U has been performed between 5.2 MeV and 6.4 MeV. Asγ-source the bremsstrahlung from a microtron has been used. For the detection of the fission fragments, solid state track detectors were used. The yield data were evaluated to approximate cross sections. The data were analyzed within the framework of the double hump barrier model.

The beginnings of nuclear physics investigations at the Physics Institute of the Academy of Sciences and certain contemporary problems of nuclear structure

ELECTRICAL resistivity measurements have been made by many workers on quenched, irradiated or plastically deformed metals, in order to study the production of defects by these various treatments. By observing the recovery of the resistivity on annealing, it is possible to study the mobility of the various defects out of the material or to internal sinks. In this communication we present some results on the mobility of defects, introduced by low-temperature plastic deformation in titanium and zirconium.

This chapter provides an overview on reactor transfer functions The amplitude and the argument of the transfer function over the imaginary axis are, respectively, the ratio of amplitudes of the output and input and their phase difference in the steady state This form of the transfer function on the imaginary axis is called the frequency response If the frequency response is known over the positive imaginary axis, it is defined over the entire imaginary axis and by analytic continuation over the complex plane To determine whether there are zeros of the denominators of the transfer function for values of the variable with a positive real part, it is possible to use a topological property of the mapping defined by an analytic function Transfer functions have been computed for reactors with a circulating fuel These require that the delayed neutron terms be modified to take into consideration both the decay of delayed neutron precursors outside the core and undecayed precursors entering the loop Circulation affects the transfer function by increasing the gain and by introducing some mild resonances at the harmonics of the circulation frequency
