TLDR
It appeared that control of the acid and alkaline phosphatases might be affected by 2 independent initial actions of phytochrome.
Abstract
A short pulse of red light or continuous far-red light enhanced the activities of acid and alkaline phosphatases in 5-day-old etiolated sorghum cv. Pusa Chari 6 seedlings compared with the dark controls. For 30 min after the red light pulse 100% and 80% of the red/far-red photoreversibilitys was maintained for the acid and alkaline phosphatases, resp. Thereafter, the photoreversibility escape reaction was fast, being completed within 180 min. Cycloheximide and 6-methyl purine markedly inhibited red light enhancement of the activities of the phosphatases, but chloramphenicol, lincomycin and rifamycin SV were ineffective. In spite of photoregulation of both the phosphatases at the time of de novo synthesis, it appeared that control of the acid and alkaline phosphatases might be affected by 2 independent initial actions of phytochrome

Equivalence between Pfr and Cyclic AMP in the Induction of d-Usnic Acid Dehydrogenase in the Lichen Evernia prunastri.

TL;DR: Phytochrome-far red-absorbing form-increases the amount of endogenously produced cyclic AMP and this effect is shown to be photoreversible when ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid is inhibiting adenylate cyclase.

Phytochrome Control of Chloroplast Development

TL;DR: A detailed account of a number of light dependent responses that are modulated by phytochrome is dealt with individually and an insight into the mechanisms of action for each response is given separately.

Light Signal Transduction Mediated by Phytochromes

TL;DR: In this paper, the physiological effects of the activation of these photoreceptors are dramatically illustrated by comparing the morphologies of dark grown seedlings to those exposed to ambient light, which is typically white in color, have elongated stems, and lack leaves and flowers.

Partial purification and some biochemical properties of nonspecific alkaline phosphatase in germinating chick‐pea (Cicer arietinum) seeds

TL;DR: A procedure for the partial purification of a non-specific alkaline phosphatase from the embryonic axes of chick-pea seeds is described and the enzyme catalyzes the hydrolysis of a variety of organic phosphate esters.

Specific and Sequential Effects by Phytochrome during Chloroplast Development in Sorghum bicolor

TL;DR: The red and the blue light had no specific effect on RNA and protein syntheses in general and Phytochrome effect seems to be specific and acts by sequentially independent initial actions.
