A new multiresolution SAR image formation algorithm called planar subarray processing, PSAP, is presented. The PSAP provides the capability to perform intermediate decisions using lower resolution image data to redirect the remaining processing functions. These intermediate decisions can include, target detection, change detection, super resolution, and moving target parameter estimation. The PSAP algorithm has a tree like flow structure using small cascaded FFT stages making it suitable for parallel processor implementation.read more

SAR imaging of moving targets
TL;DR: A method of forming synthetic aperture radar images of moving targets without using any specific knowledge of the target motion is presented, using a unique processing kernel that involves a one-dimensional interpolation of the deramped phase history which is called keystone formatting.

A Keystone Transform Without Interpolation for SAR Ground Moving-Target Imaging
Daiyin Zhu,Yong Li,Zhaoda Zhu +2 more
TL;DR: In this letter, a realization of the keystone transform avoiding interpolation is presented and the moving target is coarsely focused according to the SAR geometry and the platform velocity while exploiting the scaling principle.

Multiresolution detection of coherent radar targets
TL;DR: This work develops and investigates several novel multiresolution algorithms for detecting coherent radar targets embedded in clutter that yield significant detection improvements over single-pixel, single-resolution constant false alarm rate (CFAR) methods that use only the finest available resolution.

Joint control of spatial quantization and temporal sampling for very low bit rate video
F.C.M. Martins,Wei Ding,E. Feig +2 more
TL;DR: An encoder rate control algorithm based on a perceptual criterion for very low bit rate video is presented, using dynamic models of encoder performance and characteristics of the human visual system to adaptively set the nominal quantizer scale factor and instantaneous frame rate.

Space-based bistatic GMTI using low resolution SAR
TL;DR: A new approach for matched filtering of moving targets using long dwell time Synthetic Aperture Radar, SAR, is presented, which eliminates the need for the matched filter to track the envelope of a target as it moves through different range bins.
