TLDR
In this article, an apparatus for synergistically combining a plasma with a comminution means such as a fluid kinetic energy mill (jet mill), preferably in a single reactor and/or in single process step is provided.Abstract:
An apparatus for synergistically combining a plasma with a comminution means such as a fluid kinetic energy mill (jet mill), preferably in a single reactor and/or in a single process step is provided by the present invention. Within the apparatus of the invention potential energy is converted into kinetic energy and subsequently into angular momentum by means of wave energy, for comminuting, reacting and separation of feed materials. Methods of use of the apparatus in the practice of various processes are also provided by the present invention.read more

Process and system for drying and heat treating materials
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a system and methods for converting high moisture waste materials to dry or low moisture products for reuse or recycle or reuse, which includes a gas turbine generator unit, a dryer vessel and a processing unit.
Patent
System, method and apparatus for treating liquids with wave energy from plasma
TL;DR: In this article, a system, method and apparatus for treating a liquid by providing a santitary type stainless steel hydrocyclone and turning on a plasma torch attached to it such that a plasma arc irradiates the liquid.

Systems for the control and use of fluids and particles
John Alvin Eastin,David Vu +1 more
TL;DR: The configuration of a feedstock material is controlled by bringing it into contact with at least a first gas moving against it at a location with an area and thickness of the feedstock liquid that forms drops or fibers of a selected size as discussed by the authors.
Patent
System, method and apparatus for lean combustion with plasma from an electrical arc
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented a plasma arc torch that can be used for lean combustion using a cylindrical vessel, an electrode housing connected to the first end of the cylinrical vessel such that a first electrode is aligned with a longitudinal axis of the vessel, the second electrode extends into the vessel and can be moved along the longitudinal axis.
Patent
Method and apparatus of treating waste
TL;DR: In this paper, an electrode movement control system may position the plasma electrodes to facilitate a pryolysis process to treat the waste feedstock, and the system includes a vessel that has an open space that receives waste feed stock.

Method and apparatus for making ozone
TL;DR: In this paper, an apparatus and method for manufacturing ozone by treating oxygen or an oxygen bearing gas with UV radiation in the range of from about 130-170 nm was described, which takes advantage of the fact that no radiation is generated substantially above 200 nm or below 130 nm which wavelengths tend to destroy ozone.
Patent
Method and apparatus for electrolytic processing of materials
TL;DR: In this article, a migrational transport layer can be induced either by creating a cementation system, applying an outside source of current to an electrode system, or a combination of both.
Patent
Process for separating oil from a naturally occurring mixture
TL;DR: In this paper, a process for separating hydrocarbons from naturally occurring mixtures comprising minerals and inorganic materials originating from rock admixed with oil, for example tar sands and oil shales, is described.
Patent
Apparatus and method for starting and stopping a plasma arc torch used for mechanized cutting and marking applications
TL;DR: In this paper, a three-way valve is disposed in the fluid line downstream of the flow restriction member and has an inlet, a torch outlet, and a vent outlet for rapidly dissipating the gas in the plasma chamber of the torch to atmosphere after the arc has been extinguished.
Patent
Solar/microwave vacuum continuous feed distillation apparatus
TL;DR: In this paper, an apparatus for the distillation of a fluid containing at least two constituent components is described, which includes a microwave energy source and a solar energy collector, both of which may be used to heat a subject fluid to a greater temperature for the purpose of distillation.
