Mediators of hedgehog signaling pathways, compositions and uses related thereto

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present methods and reagents for inhibiting aberrant growth states resulting from hedgehog gain of function, ptc loss of function or smoothened gain-of-function comprising contacting the cell with a hedgehog antagonist, such as a small molecule, in a sufficient amount to induce an abnormal growth state.

Electrically conducting polymers containing substituted phenylene and heterocycle repeat units

TL;DR: In this article, a series of polymers containing alternating bihetercycle and p -phenylene repeat units has been synthesized and studied and the electronic properties were found to depend on both the electron donating ability and the steric effects of the substituents.

Optical limiting in solutions of dithienyl polyenes

TL;DR: In this paper, the optical limiting behavior of trans-diphenyl-1,3-butadiene (DPB), 2,2'-3- methyldithienylethylene (MDTE), DTB and trans- 2, 2'-dibenzthienylthylene(DBTE) in chloroform was studied.

Diacetylenes with Formally Conjugated Sidegroups : Precursors to Liquid Crystalline Polymers ?

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed Polydiacetylenes (PDAs) as a candidate material for third-order non-linear optical properties (χ 3) due to the fact that PDAs show large third order nonlinear optical susceptibility with a fast response time.

Reactivity of Heteroaromatic Aldehydes with Low Valent Titanium.

TL;DR: In this paper, the behavior of various aromatic heterocycles under dicarbonylic coupling with low valent titanium was studied and the results showed that the electron donating properties of the ring affect the degree of oxidation of the coupled compound.
