TLDR
Demand-type disinfectants are prepared from strong base anion exchange resin beads and elemental iodine as discussed by the authors, where the resin is in the iodide form, and the iodine is applied with a water carrier which is recycled in contact with the resin and the stoichiometric amount of iodine to form the desired polyiodide.Abstract:
Demand-type disinfectants are prepared from strong base anion exchange resin beads and elemental iodine. The resin is in the iodide form, and the iodine is applied with a water carrier which is recycled in contact with the resin and the stoichiometric amount of iodine to form the desired polyiodide (viz. I 3 - , I 5 - , or mixtures thereof). A homogeneous product of pre-determined polyiodide content is obtained.read more

Water purification system for dental instrument
Leo H. Wolf,Mark F. Wolf +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a modified system for purifying water supplied to a dental unit and dynamic dental instrument (100) has two disposable elements (120, 122), each having an iodinated anionic exchange resin (23, 126) containing a continuous fix-rate released iodinated resin I(n).

Water treatment compositions
TL;DR: In this article, the authors present methods and kits for purifying and clarifying and/or nutrifying contaminated drinking water and which comprise a primary coagulant material, a microbiocidal disinfectant and an oxidant system.
Patent
Self-contained water treatment system
TL;DR: A water purifying system including two or more stages for removing organic and inorganic contaminants from source water is described in this paper, where the system may be configured such that water is first passed through a biocidal resin, and then through a granular metal alloy and an activated carbon filter to remove iodides.

Water treatment device with volumetric and time monitoring features
Edward C. Giordano,Thomas W. Graves,James M. Jennings,Mark Vander Berg,William James Storer,Douglas R. Gibbs,Douglas A. Lonsinger +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a totalization meter system for a water treatment device, the device having an inlet aperture and an outlet aperture, and a channel for channeling water between the inlet and outlet apertures, is presented.
Patent
Iodine/resin disinfectant and a procedure for the preparation thereof
TL;DR: In this article, a process for preparing polyiodide-resin for use as a iodine demand disinfectant where a porous strong base anion exchange resin in a salt form, is contacted with a material capable of donating a member absorbable by the resin so as to convert the resin to the poly-iodide ion having a valence of -1.

Demand bactericide for disinfecting water and process of preparation
Jack L. Lambert,Louis R. Fina +1 more
TL;DR: A demand bactericide for disinfecting water comprises a strong base anion exchange resin containing a bactericidally effective amount of triiodide for killing bacteria in water while being essentially free of water-elutable oxidizing iodine.
Patent
Method of disinfecting water and demand bactericide for use therein
TL;DR: In this paper, a method of treating bacerIally contaminated water for direct production of DISINFECTED WATER READY for use is described, where the water is provided through a STRONGLY BASIC ANION EXCHANGE RESIN CONTAINING COMBINED TRIIODIDE (13-) without forming a DETECTABLE CONCENTRATION of IODINE in the disinfected water.
Patent
Mixed-form polyhalide resins for disinfecting water
TL;DR: A strongly basic anion-exchange resin loaded with iodine and a less than stoichiometic amount of an iodide salt or bromine and a more than stochastic amount of bromide salt is an effective demand bactericide for disinfecting water.

Microbiocidal macroreticular ion exchange resins, their method of preparation and use
TL;DR: In this paper, large pore macroreticular ion exchange resins which contain chemically or physically bound microbiocides or combinations thereof are used for purifying aqueous solutions which are microbially contaminated.
