Determination of psilocin and 4-hydroxyindole-3-acetic acid in plasma by HPLC-ECD and pharmacokinetic profiles of oral and intravenous psilocybin in man

TL;DR: The maximum plasma levels appearing within a very short period indicate a rapid dephosphorylation of PY also when administered systemically, and high performance liquid chromatographic procedures with column-switching coupled with electrochemical detection (HPLC-ECD) for reliable quantitative determination of the PY metabolites psilocin (PI) and 4-hydroxyindole-3-acetic acid (4HIAA) in human plasma were established.

Occurrence and use of hallucinogenic mushrooms containing psilocybin alkaloids

TL;DR: Although psilocybin-containing mushrooms are not what Nordic mushroom pickers are trying to find as food or food supplement, there is a risk, admittedly small, that these mushrooms accidentally will be collected and this may be a legal problem in some Nordic countries.

Analysis of psilocybin and psilocin in Psilocybe subcubensis Guzmán by ion mobility spectrometry and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry.

TL;DR: A new method has been developed for the rapid analysis of psilocybin and/or psilocin in fungus material using ion mobility spectrometry and resulted in rapid procedures useful in analyzing psychotropic fungi.

Fungal hallucinogens psilocin, ibotenic acid, and muscimol: analytical methods and biologic activities.

TL;DR: The present article offers an opportunity to find out what are the main symptoms of intoxication with mushrooms containing psilocybin/psilocin, muscimol, and ibotenic acid.

Abwandlungsprodukte von Psilocybin und Psilocin. 2. Mitteilung über synthetische Indolverbindungen

TL;DR: In this paper, various modifications were made in the molecular structure of the natural psychotropic substances psilocybin and psilocin to obtain an insight into the relationship between structure and psychotropic action of this group of substances.

The occurrence of psilocybin in Gymnopilus species

G M Hatfield, +1 more
TL;DR: An accidental case of mushroom poisoning led to the detection of psilocybin in Gymnopilus validipes (Cortinariaceae) and this compound was subsequently isolated (0.12% yield) by anion exchange and cellulose chromatography.

Baeocystin in psilocybe, conocybe and panaeolus.

TL;DR: Intra-species variation in the presence of decay rate of baeocystin, psilocybin and psilocin are discussed in terms of age and storage factors and evidence is presented to support the existence of 4-hydroxytryptamine in collections of P. baeocytestis and P. cyanescens.

Baeocystin in Psilocybe semilanceata

TL;DR: Baeocystin and psilocybin were found in extracts of a variety of Psilocybe semilanceata and the structures of the isolated compounds were corroborated using mass spectrometry and UV spectroscopy.
