Journal ArticleDOI

Design and production of 3D printed bolus for electron radiation therapy.

TL;DR: MERT using 3D printed bolus appears to be a practical, low‐cost approach to generating optimized bolus for electron therapy and is effective in improving conformity of the prescription isodose surface and in sparing immediately adjacent normal tissues.
Journal ArticleDOI

High dose-per-pulse electron beam dosimetry: Commissioning of the Oriatron eRT6 prototype linear accelerator for preclinical use.

TL;DR: The beam monitoring system was able to measure in a reproducible way the total charge of electrons that exit the machine, as long as the electron pulse amplitude remains above a given threshold, which is suitable mainly for small animal irradiation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Clinical use of PET-CT data for radiotherapy planning: What are we looking for?

TL;DR: The use of FDG-PET as a surrogate tool for monitoring therapy response offers better patient care by individualizing treatment and avoiding ineffective chemotherapy.
Journal ArticleDOI

Radiation Biology: A Handbook for Teachers and Students

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a summarized radiobiology teaching course developed by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for radiation biology professionals who teach radiation biology courses in the US.
Journal ArticleDOI

In vivo real-time dosimetric verification in high dose rate prostate brachytherapy

TL;DR: This technique provided a method that could be utilized to detect gross errors in dose delivery of a real-time prostate HDR plan and exhibited agreement with the calculated data to within +/- 20%.

Nanoparticles in cancer imaging and therapy

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present preliminary results of a pilot study investigating titanium dioxide nanoparticles for dual-mode enhancement of computed tomography (CT) imaging and kilovoltage radiation therapy.
