In this paper, the vapour phase chromatographic analysis of the ethanol extract of leaves of Eucalyptus species has been investigated in order to develop a more accurate determination of the terpene content.
Abstract
The vapour-phase chromatographic analysis of the ethanol extract of leaves of Eucalyptus species has been investigated in order to develop a more accurate determination of the terpene content. Conventional techniques based on steam distillation have been shown to have serious faults when compared with solvent extraction procedures. The convenience of the method during both the field sampling and the laboratory analysis stages is a major advantage. The procedure is suitable for large numbers of samples and requires only small amounts of leaf material.

Natural variation in the essential oil content of Melaleuca alternifolia Cheel (Myrtaceae)

TL;DR: The composition and yield of oil in 615 trees representing the natural populations of Melaleuca alternifolia, or tea tree, was investigated and a sixth distinct oil chemotype was identified.

Supercritical CO2 extraction of Eucalyptus leaves oil and comparison with Soxhlet extraction and hydro-distillation methods

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used a central composite design method to determine the significance and interactions of temperature, pressure, and extraction time on the oil yield of Eucalyptus loxophleba ssp. lissophloia.

Comparative Metabolism of Dietary Terpene, p-Cymene, in Generalist and Specialist Folivorous Marsupials

TL;DR: Findings indicate that species encountering terpenes, such as p-cymene, in their normal diet have developed efficient oxidation pathways to eliminate them and could also reduce the necessity for subsequent conjugation of metabolites which minimizes further demands on a nutritionally limited diet.

Intraspecific variation in leaf oils of Melaleuca alternifolia (Myrtaceae)

TL;DR: Differences in terpene composition among populations support data from allozyme analyses suggesting genetic differentiation of populations in the northwestern extremity of the species range and proposes recognition of two chemical forms in northwestern populations.

Essential Oils and Waxes

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a method for detecting adulteration of Olive Oil using a UV lamp, based on residual or clouding formation of Olive Oils in the water.
