TLDR
In this paper, a method for the separation of 10 −s g quantities of thorium from solutions of iron meteorites, using 1-(o-arsono-phenyl-azo)-2-naphthol-3 : 6-disulphonic acid as a precipitant and zirconium as a carrier, was described.

The uranium contents of iron meteorites

TL;DR: In this paper, seven iron meteorites and the iron phase of one pallasite have been examined for uranium content by neutron activation and the results are at the limit of detection by this method under the conditions used, but indicate a variable uranium content in the range 10 −12 to 10 −10 g/g.

Radioactive Methods for Determining Geological Age

TL;DR: Several indirect methods (radiation damage, thermoluminescence and cube edge variation) are being developed for the purpose of determining the geological age of a mineral, but have not been considered in this review.

Helium 3 content and age of meteorites

TL;DR: It has been found that the helium liberated from five iron meteorites contained substantial amounts of helium 3; the helium 3 to helium 4 ratio varied from 17.8 to 31.5% as discussed by the authors.

Production by cosmic rays of helium-3 in meteorites.

TL;DR: The helium content of iron meteorites varies as an indication of their very different ages, and it was predicted from cosmic ray observations that in meteoritie helium the proportion of helium-3 to helium-4 may amount to about 30 per cent.

Recent studies on iron meteorites. III Determination of the uranium and thorium contents

TL;DR: In this paper, a method for the isolation of radon and thorium from 10 to 100 g samples of iron meteorites was described, and the concentrations of these elements were of the order of 10 −8 g per g of meteorite.
