TLDR
In this paper, the authors made judgments of thickness by finger span, extent of arm movement, heaviness of lifted weights, force by handgrip, and speed of arm motion.Abstract:
Fifty male Ss made judgments of (1) thickness by finger span, (2) extent of arm movement, (3) heaviness of lifted weights, (4) force by handgrip, and (5) speed of arm movement. The method was fractionation: halving the magnitude of each stimulus. Comparisons were made in terms of the size of the exponent of the sensory scale.read more

Central and Peripheral Mechanisms in Motor Control
TL;DR: This chapter discusses the central and peripheral mechanisms in motor control, and the role of feedback is primarily considered in terms of peripheral information from the various modalities providing the substrate for the detection and correction of movement errors.

The Developmental Significance of Cross-Modal Matching
TL;DR: For instance, the authors argued that traditional distinctions between the spatial senses and, for that matter, between afferent sensory perception and efferent motor control are arbitrary and unhelpful (e.g., Bornstein, 1936; Freedman, 1968; von Hornbostel, 1927).

Psychophysical discontinuity and pseudosequence effects
TL;DR: In this article, a psychophysical model is presented which explicitly allows for a major discontinuity in the response continuum, and for stochastic transition between response states, where each state is uniquely associated with one segment of the psychophysical relation.

Psychophysics of kinesthesis.
TL;DR: A horizontal straight-arm movement was used to determine the relationship between the physical stimulus continuum and the psychological continuum of kinesthetic extent of arm movement and the category scale was derived to classify extent of movement as belonging to either a prothetic or metathetic continuum.
