TLDR
A continuous model which keeps track of the numbers of each sex shows that an allele for equal division of effort between the sexes is favored over any allele causing a slight deviation from equality, no matter what the difference in mortalitybetween the sexes.
Abstract
Differential mortality between the sexes after the period of parental care apparently does not alter the ratio of male to female births. A continuous model which keeps track of the numbers of each sex shows that an allele for equal division of effort between the sexes is favored over any allele causing a slight deviation from equality, no matter what the difference in mortality between the sexes.

Sexual selection and the descent of man, 1871-1971

TL;DR: In the first full discussion of sexual selection since 1871, leading biologists brought modern genetic theory and behavior observation to bear on the subject as mentioned in this paper, and the result is a remarkably original and well-rounded view of the whole concept that will be invaluable especially to students of evolution and human sexual behavior.

Natural selection of parental ability to vary the sex ratio of offspring.

TL;DR: Theory and data suggest that a male in good condition at the end of the period of parental investment is expected to outreproduce a sister in similar condition, while she is expectedto outre produce him if both are in poor condition, and natural selection should favor parental ability to adjust the sex ratio of offspring produced according to parental able to invest.

Evolution in age-structured populations

Sex Ratio Variation in Mammals

TL;DR: Valid evidence that sex ratio trends are adaptive must be based on the overall distribution of trends or on cases in which the sex ratio can be shown to vary with the relative fitness of producing sons and daughters.

The Genetical Theory of Natural Selection

R. C. Punnett
- 01 Oct 1930 -
TL;DR: Although it is true that most text-books of genetics open with a chapter on biometry, closer inspection will reveal that this has little connexion with the body of the work, and that more often than not it is merely belated homage to a once fashionable study.

Physiological and Evolutionary Theories of Dominance
