Automobile prices in market equilibrium

TL;DR: In this article, the authors developed techniques for empirically analyzing demand and supply in differentiated products markets and then applied these techniques to analyze equilibrium in the U.S. automobile industry.
Journal ArticleDOI

Common Beliefs and Reality About PLS: Comments on Rönkkö and Evermann (2013)

TL;DR: In this article, the authors address Ronkko and Evermann's criticisms of the Partial Least Squares (PLS) approach to structural equation modeling and conclude that PLS should continue to be used as an important statistical tool for management and organizational research, as well as other social science disciplines.
Journal ArticleDOI

A new study on reliability-based design optimization

TL;DR: This paper presents a general approach for probabilistic constraint evaluation in the reliability-based design optimization (RBDO), where the conventional reliability index approach (RIA) and the proposed performance measure approach (PMA) are identified as two special cases.

A Practical Method of Nonprobabilistic Reliability and Parameter Sensitivity Analysis Based on Space-Filling Design

TL;DR: In this article, three types of convex model including interval, ellipsoid, and multiellinsoid convex uncertainty model are investigated, and a uniform model of nonprobabilistic reliability analysis is built.

Statistical power and probabilities of type i error in terms of suitable number of simulations in nonparametric tests

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of different numbers of simulations on determination process of statistical powers and probabilities of type I error of nonparametric tests were discussed, and the optimum numbers of simulation for determining statistical power and probability of Type I error were suggested for future researchers.

Ply Level Uncertainty Effects on Failure of Composite Structures

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of material uncertainties in failure strength and reliability analysis for single ply and cross-ply laminated composite subjected to only axial loading is studied in the context of aerospace engineering.
Dissertation

Computational study of electrostatic contribution to membrane dynamics

TL;DR: A dynamic Monte-Carlo automaton is developed that faithfully simulates lateral diffusion of the adsorbed positively charged PD of a peripheral membrane protein, as well as the dynamics of mono(PS, PA) and polyvalent (PIP2) anionic lipids within the bilayer to investigate the major characteristics of protein-membrane diffusion on the uniform membrane.
