TLDR
In this article, the effect of sand dredging volume on shoreline retreat was investigated by dredging various amounts of sand at one time under the same regular wave condition, and the results showed that the relationship between shoreline return and dredging volumes is nonlinear.

Tourism and beach erosion: valuing the damage of beach erosion for tourism in the Hoi An World Heritage site, Vietnam

TL;DR: In this article, the authors deal with the damage valuation of the beach erosion in relation to the tourism revenue based on the hedonic pricing method and suggest mitigation strategies and policy recommendations.

Remote Monitoring of PSD Slope Under the Influence of Sand Dredging Activities in Lake Hongze Based on Landsat-8/OLI Data and VIIRS/DNB Night-Time Light Composite Data

TL;DR: The night active vessels extracted from the night-time images show that sand dredging activities began at the outlet of Chengzi Lake in April 2012, spread to the whole lake between 2014 and 2016, and then stopped in the northeast region in March 2017 due to the strict control of the local government.

The Impact of Sea Shore Protection on Aeolian Processes Using the Example of the Beach in Rowy, N Poland

Hojan, +2 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the effect of sea erosion on the Polish Baltic Sea coast and found that strong, coastal directions of the wind were the main factors responsible for increased aeolian transport of sand inland.

Coastal erosion in Vietnam: Case studies and implication for integrated coastal zone management in the Vietnamese south-central coastline

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors identify natural and human factors that affect coastal erosion through case studies in the south-central coastline, in which integrated coastal zone management approach plays a key role.

Sbeach, Numerical Model for Simulating Storm-Induced Beach Change: Report 1: Empirical Foundation and Model Development

TL;DR: In this article, a two-dimensional numerical model is presented for calculating dune and beach erosion produced by storm waves and water levels, based on a large data set of net cross-shore sand transport rates and geomorphic change observed in large wave tanks.

Two-dimensional beach transformation due to waves

TL;DR: In this paper, important physical parameters controlling sandy beach transformation were clarified on the basis of the result obtained by a laboratory test, which enabled the previously obtained laboratory beach profiles to be classified into newly proposed three beach types.

Impacts of Dredging on Shoreline Change

TL;DR: In this paper, a method is described for estimating both direct and indirect effects of dredging on shoreline change, where the direct effect results from infilling of the dredged pit via cross-shore sediment transport and is addressed statistically, assuming that the beach profile is in some arbitrary equilibrium shape.
