Abstract
This paper presents an in-depth analysis of the state quo of the wind power development in China, which is characterized by the fast increase of wind power generating capacity and centralized locations, and of the existing problems, namely insufficient peak load regulating capability, lack of trans-regional interconnection favorable for wind power digestion, and it then proposes some measures on the sound and sustainable wind power development, and on the proper scale and the corresponding benefits for the reasonable development for China’s wind power. These measures include optimizing the power resource structure to provide an adequate margin for the peak load dispatching, building the strong trans-regional interconnected power grids, the reasonable layout of coal-fired power plants, and the bundled transmission of wind power and thermal power, and finally the appropriate supporting policies by the government.
