Electronic and structural properties of transition-metal carbide and nitride surfaces
TL;DR: In this article, the electronic and structural properties of clean surfaces of transition-metal carbides and nitrides are reviewed, and a considerable amount of information concerning these topics has been collected to date in both experimental and theoretical investigations.
Book
Tungsten Carbides: Structure, Properties and Application in Hardmetals
TL;DR: In this paper, the phases and equilibrium in the W -C and W - Co -C systems were discussed. And the order of Tungsten carbide carbide was described.

Ultra-High Temperature Materials III: Refractory Carbides II (Ti and V Carbides)
TL;DR: In this article, the authors provide a thorough treatment of ultra-high temperature materials with melting (sublimation or decomposition) points around or over 2500 °C, including binary, ternary and multi-component systems.
Journal ArticleDOI
Order–disorder transformations and phase equilibria in strongly nonstoichiometric compounds
TL;DR: In this article, phase diagram calculations for strongly nonstoichiometric carbides and nitrides MXy (X=C, N) of Group IV and V transition metals at temperatures below 1300-1400 K are reviewed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of vacancy ordering on structure and properties of vanadium carbide
TL;DR: In this paper, the microhardness, electrical conductivities, specific heats at constant pressure (C p ), lattice parameters and microstructures of ordered and disordered vanadium carbides were investigated.

Journal ArticleDOI
Structure of the ordered compound V6C5
TL;DR: In this article, the nominal rock-salt structure of single crystal vanadium carbide is modified substantially by carbon vacancy ordering, and the material is hexagonal (trigonal), corresponding to an ordered compound V6C5, and contains a superlattice and domains.
Journal ArticleDOI
Order and disorder in transition metal carbides and nitrides: experimental and theoretical aspects
C. H. de Novion,J. P. Landesman +1 more
TL;DR: A general overview of the experimental data concerning long and short-range order of metalloid vacancies in transition metal carbides and nitrides is given in this paper, with an emphasis on neutron scattering experiments.
Journal ArticleDOI
A superlattice with monoclinic symmetry based on the compound V6C5
TL;DR: In this paper, the ordered distribution of carbon vacancies in the compound V6C5 has been analyzed by electron diffraction and dark-field electron microscopy and the dominant structure is that based on a superlattice with monoclinic symmetry having a lattice orientation relation with the disordered cubic matrix.
Journal ArticleDOI
Disorder and Long‐Range Order in Non‐Stoichiometric Interstitial Compounds Transition Metal Carbides, Nitrides, and Oxides
TL;DR: A cause de la haute concentration de lacunes structurales, les composes d'insertion non stœchiometriques sont des materiaux uniques for l'exploration des arrangements atomiques.
