The infrastructure that is being designed and constructed to support controlled experimentation with testing and regression testing techniques is described and the impact that this infrastructure has had and can be expected to have.
Abstract
Where the creation, understanding, and assessment of software testing and regression testing techniques are concerned, controlled experimentation is an indispensable research methodology. Obtaining the infrastructure necessary to support such experimentation, however, is difficult and expensive. As a result, progress in experimentation with testing techniques has been slow, and empirical data on the costs and effectiveness of techniques remains relatively scarce. To help address this problem, we have been designing and constructing infrastructure to support controlled experimentation with testing and regression testing techniques. This paper reports on the challenges faced by researchers experimenting with testing techniques, including those that inform the design of our infrastructure. The paper then describes the infrastructure that we are creating in response to these challenges, and that we are now making available to other researchers, and discusses the impact that this infrastructure has had and can be expected to have.

Spectrum enhanced dynamic slicing for better fault localization

TL;DR: This paper combines SHSC with SFL to improve the ranking of faulty statements so that they allow for better fault localization than when using the previously mentioned methods separately.

Comparing the Effectiveness of Equivalence Partitioning, Branch Testing and Code Reading by Stepwise Abstraction Applied by Subjects

TL;DR: The results show that equivalence partitioning and branch testing are equally effective and better than code reading by stepwise abstraction and project contextual variables that should be considered when applying any verification and validation technique or to choose one particular technique.

Experience report: How do techniques, programs, and tests impact automated program repair?

TL;DR: It is found that techniques that work well with small programs become too costly or ineffective when applied to medium sized programs, and the impacts of different programs and test suites on effectiveness and efficiency of program repair techniques are investigated.

Diagnosing multiple intermittent failures using maximum likelihood estimation

TL;DR: A novel framework is presented, coined Barinel, that computes estimations of the g"j as integral part of the posterior candidate probability computation using a maximum likelihood estimation approach and shows that this approach is superior to reasoning approaches based on classical persistent failure models, as well as previously proposed intermittent failure models.

Deepfake Detection: A Systematic Literature Review

TL;DR: A systematic literature review (SLR) is conducted, summarizing 112 relevant articles from 2018 to 2020 that presented a variety of methodologies in Deepfake detection and concluding that the deep learning-based methods outperform other methods in Deep fake detection.
