[Synthesis and decomposition of nucleic acids during macronuclear development in Stylonychia mytilus (Protozoa, Ciliata)].

TLDR
The synthesis of nucleic acids during the development of the macronuclear anlage from a diploid nucleus to the polyploid macronucleus has been studied and it is shown that most of the anlagen-DNA is decomposed.
Abstract

DNA of ciliated protozoa

TL;DR: In this paper, DNA was isolated from macronuclei and micronucleis of the ciliated protozoan, Stylonychia mytilus under conditions that minimize the possibility of DNA degradation.

Morphology and development of the macronuclei of the ciliates Stylonychia mytilus and Euplotes aediculatus.

TL;DR: The results lead to the following hypothesis: the macronuclei of the two hypotrich ciliates contain unconnected chromomeres or small aggregates which are distributed at random to the two daughter nuclei during the divisions.

Morphology and structure of polytene chromosomes.

TL;DR: This chapter focuses on the gene mapping and building of cytogenetic maps, as well as on problems pertaining to the genetic organization of the main morphological structures of polytene chromosomes—the chromomeres and interchromomeric regions.

Nuclear differentiation and nucleic acid synthesis in well-fed exconjugants of Paramecium aurelia

TL;DR: Paramecium aurelia exconjugants contain new macronuclear anlagen and numerous fragments of the old pre-zygotic macronucleus and there was no evidence of two periods of DNA synthesis separated by a “DNA poor” stage as has been observed in several hypotrichous Ciliates.

Regulierung der DNS-Menge im Makronucleus von Tetrahymena

TL;DR: The amount of Feulgen-positive material in the macronucleus of Tetrahymena pyriformis HSM was determined by means of microphotometry in different stages of the cell cycle and in cell lines to maintain the mean DNA amount and the degree of variation.

Chromatin-Diminution bei Copepoden

TL;DR: The somatic chromosomes of Cyclops strenuus and of some othes Copepoda become different from those of the germ line cells by a procers of chromatin diminution similar to the classical case of Ascaris.

Metabolic DNA in Tipula oleracea.

TL;DR: Spectrophotometric measurements of the body reveal that it contains four times more DNA per unit area than the chromosomes, which means that the amount of DNA in the body is of a higher order of magnitude than that found in all the chromosomes.
