TLDR
In this paper, a template condensation of alkylacetoacetate with diethylenetriamine resulted in the formation of homodinuclear transition metal complexes of a 20-membered macrocyclic ligand and the overall geometry and the mode of bonding have been inferred with IR, 1 H NMR, EPR and electronic spectra studies as well as magnetic and molar conductance data.

Ru(II) complexes of N4 and N2O2 macrocyclic Schiff base ligands: their antibacterial and antifungal studies.

TL;DR: All the macrocycles and macrocyclic Ru(II) complexes along with existing antibacterial drugs were screened for antibacterial activity against Gram +ve (Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus) and Gram -ve (Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumonia) bacteria and were found to be more active when compared to streptomycin and ampicillin.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis and antibacterial activity of metal complexes of ciprofloxacin

TL;DR: In this article, the interactions of ciprofloxacin (HCipro) with transition metals have been investigated and two types of complexes, [M(Cipro)(OAc)(H2O)2] · 3H 2O (M = MnII, CoII, CuII or CdII), were obtained and characterized by physicochemical and spectroscopic methods.

Synthesis, characterization and electrochemical behaviour of some copper(II) complexes with linear and tripodal tetradentate ligands derived from Schiff bases

TL;DR: In this paper, the binding of tetradentate ligands with two N and two O donor sites to copper(II) ion was investigated and it was shown that ligand geometry, steric bulk and electron donating effects of the ligand substituents are among the factors influencing the redox potentials of the complexes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis, characterization, electrochemical behaviour and catalytic activity of manganese(ii) complexes with linear and tripodal tetradentate ligands derived from schiff bases

TL;DR: In this paper, a tetradentate manganese (II) complex with linear and tripodal tetralentate ligands was synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance, and electronic and e.s.r. spectra.
Journal ArticleDOI

Symmetric binuclear complexes with an 'end-off' compartmental Schiff base ligand

TL;DR: In this article, four binuclear transition metal(II) complexes, i.r.t. spectra, elemental analysis, conductivity measurements and thermal analysis, were used for growth inhibitory activity against Bacillus cirroflagellosus and Pseudomonas auregenosa.

Orbital interactions in metal dimer complexes

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of geometrical distortions, electronegativity, and variation of substituents on the magnetic interaction in dimeric systems is examined in detail for singly bridged L,M-X-ML, (n = 3, 4, 5); Cu~C16~ and other doubly bridging species where the bridging ligands are halogens, OR, pyridine N-oxides, oxalate, squarate; and the acetate bridged dimers C u ~ (R C 0 0 ) 4.

Anion receptor molecules. Synthesis and anion-binding properties of polyammonium macrocycles

TL;DR: In this article, the 1,3-propylenediamine unit was incorporated in polyammonium macrocycles for anion-coordination chemistry, the binding of anions by organic ligands, which has been much less investigated than cation complexation.
