TLDR
In this article, the crystal structure of 1-phenyl-2,3-dimethyl-4-(N-3-formyl-6-methyl-chromone)-3-pyrazolin-5-one (HL) has been determined by X-ray diffraction studies, as well as the one of its copper(II) complex [CuL(OAc)]·CH3OH which contains an anionic ligand and an acetate in the coordination sphere of the metal.

Journal ArticleDOI

Antibacterial, antifungal and in vitro antileukaemia activity of metal complexes with thiosemicarbazones.

TL;DR: The in vitro antibacterial activity of the complexes against Escherichia coli, Salmonella abony, Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus cereus and the antifungal activity against Candida albicans strains was higher for the metal complexes than for free ligand.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis, structural characterization, fluorescence, antimicrobial, antioxidant and DNA cleavage studies of Cu(II) complexes of formyl chromone Schiff bases.

TL;DR: Antimicrobial, antioxidant and DNA cleavage activities indicate that metal complexes exhibited greater activity as compared with ligands, and distorted octahedral geometry is proposed for all the Cu(II) complexes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mechanistic insights into a novel chromone-appended Cu(II) anticancer drug entity: in vitro binding profile with DNA/RNA substrates and cytotoxic activity against MCF-7 and HepG2 cancer cells

TL;DR: It is suggested that ROS plays an important role in cell apoptosis induced by the Cu(ii) complex and validates its potential to act as a robust anticancer drug entity.

Some new Cu(II) complexes containing an ON donor Schiff base: Synthesis, characterization and antibacterial activity

TL;DR: In this article, the crystal structure of 1-phenyl-2,3-dimethyl-4-(N-2-hydroxy-4-methoxy-benzaldehyde)-3-pyrazolin-5-one has been determined by X-ray diffraction studies.

Synthesis, spectroscopic and catalytic studies of Cu(II), Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes immobilized on Schiff base modified chitosan

TL;DR: In this paper, a new class of bidentate (N, O) Schiff base ligand (L) has been derived from the functional biopolymer (chitosan) and 1,2-diphenylethanedione in 1:1-M ratio.
