Vapor−Liquid Equilibrium and Liquid−Liquid Equilibrium of Methyl Acetate + Methanol + 1-Ethyl-3-methylimidazolium Acetate

TL;DR: In this article, the vapor-liquid equilibrium (VLE) and liquid liquid equilibrium (LLE) of the ternary system of ethyl acetate + ethanol + 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium acetate ([EMIM][Ac]) were measured.
Journal ArticleDOI

Extended UNIQUAC model for correlation and prediction of vapor¿liquid¿liquid¿solid equilibria in aqueous salt systems containing non-electrolytes. Part B. Alcohol (ethanol, propanols, butanols)¿water¿salt systems

TL;DR: The Extended UNIQUAC model for electrolyte solutions is an excess Gibbs energy function consisting of a Debye-Huckel term and a term corresponding to the UNQUAC equation as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

The application of ultrasound in the determination of isobaric vapour–liquid–liquid equilibrium data

TL;DR: In this paper, the application of ultrasound is shown to be an excellent method to transform the dynamic instruments for the determination of vapour-liquid equilibrium (VLE) data into useful equipment for determination of isobaric VLLE data, and the best place and position of the ultrasonic homogenizer in the instrument is discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of the substrate concentration and water activity on the yield and rate of the transfer reaction of β-galactosidase from Bacillus circulans.

TL;DR: Using a system composed of the commercial β-galactosidase derived from Bacillus circulans known as Biolacta FN5, lactose and sucrose, the relative contribution of water activity, and substrate availability were assessed, and it was suggested that the high oligosaccharide levels achieved at the raised initial saccharide concentration are due to increases in reactions that form oligOSaccharides rather than decreases in concurrent reactions, which degrade oligosACcharides.

Solubility of hydrocarbons in water: Experimental measurements and modeling using a group contribution with association equation of state (GCA-EoS)

TL;DR: In this article, new experimental data on the solubility of n-hexane, cyclohexane and iso-octane in pure water are reported using a static-analytic technique that takes advantage of a Rolsi TM sampling device in the temperature range of 298-353 K and at pressures up to 0.5 MPa.
