Hydrochemistry, quality and potential health risk appraisal of nitrate enriched groundwater in the Nanchong area, southwestern China

TL;DR: The integration of statistical analysis, ion correlation, geomodelling analysis, entropy water quality index and health risks assessment, which revealed the concentrations of major ions were mainly determined by calcite dissolution and ion exchange process and NO3- concentrations were controlled by agriculture activities.
Journal ArticleDOI

Oil content and resource quality evaluation methods for lacustrine shale: A review and a novel three-dimensional quality evaluation model

TL;DR: In this article , a three-dimensional model for evaluating the resource quality of shale oil plays based on multistep pyrolysis parameters is proposed and applied to a case study of the shales of the Jurassic Daanzhai Formation (J1zD) in the Langzhong area of the Sichuan Basin, SW China.
Journal ArticleDOI

Hydrochemistry and Entropy-Based Groundwater Quality Assessment in the Suining Area, Southwestern China

TL;DR: In this article, the integration of statistical analysis, correlations of ions, geomodelling, and entropy-weighted water quality index (EWQI) was carried out to clarify the hydrochemistry and groundwater quality in the study area.

Improved estimation of coalbed methane content using the revised estimate of depth and CatBoost algorithm: A case study from southern Sichuan Basin, China

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a feasible machine learning model to achieve a more accurate estimation of coalbed methane content with a small data set, which can resolve the errors introduced by using the commonly used measured depth as a feature in areas with drastic topographical and structural changes.

Formation of the 1300-km-wide intracontinental orogen and postorogenic magmatic province in Mesozoic South China: A flat-slab subduction model

TL;DR: This article proposed a flat-slab subduction model for Mesozoic South China based on both sensitive high-resolution ion microprobe (SHRIMP) U-Pb zircon data and a synthesis of existing structural, geochronological, and sedimentary facies results.
Journal ArticleDOI

Gondwana dispersion and Asian accretion: Tectonic and palaeogeographic evolution of eastern Tethys

TL;DR: The Phanerozoic evolution of the region is the result of more than 400 million years of continental dispersion from Gondwana and plate tectonic convergence, collision and accretion as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Geological Evolution of the Tibetan Plateau

TL;DR: Cessation of rapid Pacific trench migration coincided with a slowing of fragment extrusion beyond the plateau and probably contributed to the onset of rapid surface uplift and crustal thickening in eastern Tibet.

History of Neoproterozoic rift basins in South China: implications for Rodinia break-up

TL;DR: In this paper, a first-order analysis of the Neoproterozoic continental rift basins in South China is presented, focusing on the north-south trending Kangdian basin in the western part, and the Yangtze-side of the northeasterly-trending Nanhua basin.
