Journal ArticleDOI

Recalculation of bond moments and bond derivatives in deuterated methanes

TL;DR: In this paper, the bond moments and bond derivatives in methane have been recalculated using force constants recently reported by Jones and McDowell, which confirmed the previous conclusion that the bond moment and the bond derivative have opposite signs.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cluster expansion of molecular tensor properties : electric dipole moments of methane derivatives

TL;DR: In this paper, an algebraic treatment of the electric dipole moments of methane derivatives is presented in terms of contributions due to clusters of molecular subunits, which result from truncating the subunit-cluster expansion after the sub unit, sub unit-pair or subunit triples terms.
Journal ArticleDOI

Polarity of the C–H Bonds in Acetylene and Its Molecular Quadrupole Moment

TL;DR: In this paper, the semi-empirical LCBO MO method was applied to analyze the dipole moment of the CH bonds of acetylene and showed that hydrogen is slightly positive in polarity.
