Effects of forgiveness therapy on anger, mood, and vulnerability to substance use among inpatient substance-dependent clients.

TL;DR: Patients with substance dependence from a local residential treatment facility randomly assigned to and completed FT had significantly more improvement in total and trait anger, depression, total and traits anxiety, self-esteem, forgiveness, and vulnerability to drug use than did the alternative treatment group.

TL;DR: Mediation analyses showed that the use of specific behavioral strategies mediated the effect of the BMI condition on drinking volume and promoting specific behaviors in the context of in-person brief interventions may be a promising approach to reducing drinking volume among identified at-risk students.
