TLDR
In this article, a small catchment has been calibrated for a period of 17 months prior to building activity by deriving multiple regression equations relating peak flow, runoff amount and runoff percentage to precipitation characteristics at different times of the year, by evaluating unit hydrographs, by establishing suspended sediment rating curves, and by using two adjacent catchments as controls.About:

Urban transformation of river landscapes in a global context
TL;DR: In this paper, a compilation of research results from more than 100 studies conducted in a range of areas (58 addressing morphological change) was used to describe how urbanization has transformed river landscapes across Earth's surface.

Anti clockwise hysteresis in suspended sediment concentration during individual storms: Holbeck catchment; Yorkshire, England
TL;DR: In this paper, an analysis of the flow sediment hysteresis shape may assist in determining the sediment source area in a small basin, where sediment is derived from the bed and banks of the channel or areas adjacent to the channel.
Journal ArticleDOI
Reaction, relaxation and lag in natural sedimentary systems: General principles, examples and lessons
TL;DR: In this paper, the existence of these lag effects introduces non-uniqueness into the operation of natural sedimentary systems, which is best represented and assessed in terms of phase diagrams.

Research and cumulative watershed effects
TL;DR: In this article, a general approach to evaluate cumulative watershed effects (CWEs) is proposed, and the types of information available for assessments are reviewed, including geomorphological and ecological approaches based on the understanding of the processes involved.

Land cover impacts on stream nutrients and fecal coliform in the lower Piedmont of West Georgia
TL;DR: In this paper, a 2-phase, watershed-scale study was established to develop relationships among land cover and water quality within western Georgia, and regression models were developed that related land cover to stream water nutrient and fecal coliform concentrations.

Factors affecting the response of small watersheds to precipitation in humid areas
TL;DR: In this article, a numerical rating system, the response factor, was developed from precipitation and streamflow records for use in classifying the hydrologic response of small watersheds in humid areas.

A Cycle of Sedimentation and Erosion in Urban River Channels
TL;DR: In this article, historical evidence and contemporary measurements indicate in the Piedmont of Maryland that successive changes in land use have been accompanied by changes in sediment yield and in the behavior of animals.

The variation of drainage density within a catchment
K. J. Gregory,Desmond E. Walling +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, it is suggested that both peak flow and base flow are related to drainage density in the same way, and that the drainage density derived by a particular method can be related only to one type of flow.

TL;DR: In this paper, a theory of sediment yield and transport is presented, and a graphical search for variables is performed to evaluate the storm event technique and water-sediment discharge relations.
