Web crushing capacity of hollow rectangular bridge piers
Eric M. Hines,Frieder Seible +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an approach to assess the horizontal shear capacity of hollow rectangular bridge piers designed to support 3 new toll bridges in the San Francisco Bay Area under seismic loads is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Integral constitutive model for deformational analysis of flexural reinforced concrete members
TL;DR: In this paper, a new integral constitutive model was developed for short-term deformational analysis of flexural reinforced concrete members, which consists of traditional constitutive relationships for reinforcement and compressive concrete and the integral constituent relationship for cracked tensile concrete which accumulates cracking, tension stiffening, reinforcement slippage and shrinkage effects.
DissertationDOI
Influence of Axial Tension on the Structural Response of Reinforced Concrete Slab Strips
TL;DR: In this article, the structural response of reinforced concrete slab strips subjected to axial tension and transverse load is investigated, focusing on the influence of axial tensile forces on the structural responses.
Journal ArticleDOI
Flexural and Shear Performance of Prestressed Composite Slabs with Inverted Multi-Ribs
TL;DR: In this article, flexural and shear tests were performed to verify the structural performance of half precast concrete slabs with inverted multi-ribs (Joint Advanced Slab, JAS), which enhance composite performance between slabs by introducing shear keys at connections between the slabs and improve structural performance by placing prestressing tendons and truss-type shear reinforcements.
Journal ArticleDOI
Microplane Model for Reinforced-Concrete Planar Members in Tension-Compression
Hong-Gun Park,Hak Jun Kim +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, a new microplane model is developed to overcome the disadvantages of the existing models, which uses disk microplanes involving a less number of microplanes and two-dimensional stresses and strains.
