TLDR
An analysis of the problem of the ideal center of the eye for disparity calculations during fixed and moving eye views finds that especially in the periphery, the moving eye nonius for normal observers is significantly different from the fixed-eye nonius.About:

The induced effect, vertical disparity, and stereoscopic theory
Barbara Gillam,Bo Lawergren +1 more
TL;DR: The induced effect is shown to be an appropriate stereoscopic response to a zero horizontal disparity surface at the eccentricity indicated, however, since extraretinal convergence signals provide conflicting evidence about eccentricity, they may attenuate the induced effect from its mathematically predicted value.

The nonius horopter. I. History and theory.
TL;DR: It is emphasized that the leap from entoptic geometry to phenomenal externality cannot be made quite so simply as the reliabilities of frontal plane and of equidistant horizon judgements might in themselves lead us to believe.
Book ChapterDOI
Primary Distance Perception
TL;DR: This chapter is concerned with the input process underlying distance-related behavior (distance perception) - the product of an input (perceptual) process and an output (motor) process, each of which may consist of several subprocesses.

Are corresponding points fixed
James M. Hillis,Martin S. Banks +1 more
TL;DR: The results from both experiments show that the retinal coordinates of corresponding points do not change with vergence eye movements, and corresponding points are in fixed retinal positions for observers with normal retinal correspondence.

Elasmobranch oculomotor organization: anatomical and theoretical aspects of the phylogenetic development of vestibulo-oculomotor connectivity.
Werner M. Graf,W. J. Brunken +1 more
TL;DR: The oculomotor organization of two elasmobranch species, smooth dogfish (Mustelus canis) and little skate (Raja erinacea), was studied by investigating the extraocular muscle apparatus and the oculumotor motoneuron distribution.
