Inductively Coupled Plasma-Atomic Emission Spectrometry: Analysis of Biological Materials and Soils for Major, Trace, and Ultra-trace Elements

TL;DR: In this article, an inductively coupled plasma sustained in flowing argon and a permanently aligned all-glass coaxial pneumatic nebulizer are employed in the atomic emission mode with a direct-reading polychromator for simultaneous multielement determinations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Lead in bone. IV. Distribution of lead in the human skeleton.

TL;DR: Flameless atomic absorption spectroscopy was used to measure lead concentrations in samples from 5 selected human skeletal sites obtained from 134 hospital autopsies, finding that lead was distributed unequally among the different bones in distinct patterns that were age- and to some extent, sex-dependent.
Journal ArticleDOI

Extreme trace analysis of the elements—I: Methods and problems of sample treatment, separation and enrichment

TL;DR: The author reviews some 350 publications concerned with methods for the preparation and dissolution of samples and for the isolation of trace elements before their determination of elements in the ppM range in inorganic and organic matrices.
