A Simple Extension of the Osher Riemann Solver to Non-conservative Hyperbolic Systems

TL;DR: This article proposes a simple extension of the well-known Riemann solver of Osher and Solomon to a certain class of hyperbolic systems in non-conservative form, in particular to shallow-water-type and multi-phase flow models and shows applications of the first order version of the proposed path-conservative Osher-type scheme.
Journal ArticleDOI

A new efficient formulation of the HLLEM Riemann solver for general conservative and non-conservative hyperbolic systems

TL;DR: This paper provides the easiest and most seamless path for taking a pre-existing HLL RS and quickly and effortlessly converting it to a RS that provides improved results, comparable with those of an HLLC, HLLD, Osher or Roe-type RS.
Journal ArticleDOI

HLLC-type Riemann solver for the Baer-Nunziato equations of compressible two-phase flow

TL;DR: An approximate Riemann solver of the HLLC-type for the Baer-Nunziato equations of compressible two-phase flow for the ''subsonic'' wave configuration is constructed and stationary contact waves are resolved exactly.

FORCE schemes on unstructured meshes II: Non-conservative hyperbolic systems

TL;DR: A new high order accurate centered path-conservative method on unstructured triangular and tetrahedral meshes for the solution of multi-dimensional non-conservative hyperbolic systems, as they typically arise in the context of compressible multi-phase flows.
Journal ArticleDOI

A mixture-energy-consistent six-equation two-phase numerical model for fluids with interfaces, cavitation and evaporation waves

TL;DR: Numerical results of sample tests in one and two space dimensions are presented that show the ability of the proposed model to describe cavitation mechanisms and evaporation wave dynamics.

Towards the ultimate conservative difference scheme V. A second-order sequel to Godunov's method

TL;DR: In this article, a second-order extension of the Lagrangean method is proposed to integrate the equations of ideal compressible flow, which is based on the integral conservation laws and is dissipative, so that it can be used across shocks.
