TLDR
In this article , the authors used a network model to simulate a mpox epidemic among men who have sex with men and found that vaccination of individuals at highest risk of infection reduces epidemic size more than post-exposure vaccination of sexual partners.
Abstract
Abstract We used a network model to simulate a mpox epidemic among men who have sex with men. Our findings suggest that unrecognized infections have an important impact on the epidemic, and that vaccination of individuals at highest risk of infection reduces epidemic size more than post-exposure vaccination of sexual partners.

Monkeypox outbreak 2022: What we know so far and its potential drug targets and management strategies

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors discuss monkeypox disease, potential drug targets, and management strategies to overcome the monkeypox virus infection, which can result in flu-like symptoms, fever, and a persistent rash.

Accumulation of immunity in heavy-tailed sexual contact networks shapes monkeypox outbreak sizes

TL;DR: In this paper , a mathematical model incorporating empirical estimates of the heavy-tailed sexual partnership distribution among men who have sex with men (MSM) suggests that monkeypox epidemics can hit the infection-derived herd immunity threshold and begin to decline with less than 1% of sexually active MSM population infected regardless of interventions or behavioural changes.

Uptake of Mpox vaccination among transgender people and gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men among sexually-transmitted infection clinic clients in Vancouver, British Columbia

TL;DR: In this article , the impact of Mpox vaccination campaigns for transgender people and gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men (T/GBM) was evaluated among clients of an urban STI clinic in British Columbia (BC).

The possible effect of socio-behavioral factors and public health actions on the mpox epidemic slowdown

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors explore the possible factors affecting the trend of mpox cases in an Italian region (Lazio) with a rapid roll-out of the vaccination campaign.

Monkeypox Virus Infection in Humans across 16 Countries — April–June 2022

TL;DR: The monkeypox virus infection in humans was seldom reported outside African regions where it is endemic as mentioned in this paper , and currently cases are occurring worldwide, but transmission, risk factors, clinical presentation, and outcomes of infection are poorly defined.

Community transmission of monkeypox in the United Kingdom, April to May 2022

- 02 Jun 2022 -
TL;DR: The first sustained sustained MPXV transmission in the UK was reported between 7 and 25 May, with human-to-human transmission through close contacts, including in sexual networks as discussed by the authors .

Modelling human-to-human transmission of monkeypox.

TL;DR: This work uses mathematical modelling to argue that, in a population with diminishing herd immunity against orthopoxvirus species, the epidemic potential of monkeypox will continue increasing, and monkeypox could emerge as the most important orthop oxvirus infection in humans.

Stochastic model for interhuman spread of monreypox

TL;DR: In this article, a computerized stochastic model of Monte Carlo type was constructed to assess the potential risk of the monkeypox virus to establish and maintain itself in an unvaccinated population through continuous man-to-man transmission.
