VICS distributes road traffic information such as traffic jams or accidents to drivers in real time, and stimulates drivers for accurate and proper utilization.
Abstract
The objective of a vehicle information and communication system (VICS) is to disperse traffic by providing drivers with road traffic information to enable them to satisfy their natural desire to "get there faster". Put simply, VICS is based on drivers' arbitrary selection of routes and on the automobile's unique ability to take any desired route. The objective is to promote the safe, smooth flow of traffic by naturally distributing the flow of traffic, which is done by guiding cars to the appropriate routes in accordance with drivers' instinctive desire to reach their destinations quickly by avoiding traffic congestion. VICS distributes road traffic information such as traffic jams or accidents to drivers in real time, and stimulates drivers for accurate and proper utilization.

Cyber physical system for vehicle application

TL;DR: In the proposed system, the expected continuous spiral information flow for vehicles and drivers is described, which has been analysed by intelligent information processing of data mining, then finally extracted information has been provided to drivers through a human–machine interface.

Performance of Mobile Ad Hoc Network in Constrained Mobility Pattern.

TL;DR: The results show that MANET performance in the M-Grid mobility pattern is reduced considerable as compared to random waypoint, and a parameter called coverage density index was proposed to normalize mobility patterns coverage and thus its connectivity.

A study on design of dynamic route guidance system using forecasted travel time based on GPS data and modified shortest path algorithm

TL;DR: The objective of this paper is to propose the design of a dynamic route guidance system using forecasted travel time based on Global Positioning System (GPS) data and a modified shortest path algorithm and the Floyd-Warshall algorithm.

Risk of Traffic Incident Delay in Routing and Scheduling of Hazardous Materials

TL;DR: Comparison of the results showed that the model provides a better alternative to the conventional population-based model as it gives balanced optimal solution avoiding paths that causes large increase of the congestion-based cost.
