TLDR
The transition between Fe3S4 and FeS seems to depend closely on their structures as discussed by the authors, and the transition between the two structures seems to be dependent on their respective structures.
Abstract
Synthetic Fe3S4 is cubic, a0 = 990 A, space group Fd3m, Z = 8 The parameter u of sulfur positions in 32e site is estimated as 3/8, i e it has an ideal structure Fe3S4 was decomposed to tetragonal or hexagonal FeS and free S at below or above 190 °C under hydrothermal conditions The transition between Fe3S4 and FeS seems to depend closely on their structures Synthetisches Fe3S4 ist kubisch, a0 = 9,90 A, Raumgruppe Fd3m, Z = 8 Der Parameter u der Schwefelatome in 32e Lage ist 3/8, d h es hat eine ideale Spinellstruktur Unter hydrothermalen Bedingungen wird Fe3S4 in tetragonales oder hexagonales FeS und freien S unter oder uber 190 °C zersetzt Der Ubergang zwischen Fe3S4 und FeS scheint stark von ihren Strukturen abhangig zu sein

Formation processes of framboidal pyrite

TL;DR: In this article, the stability of colloidal, iron monosulfide suspensions with ionic strengths typical of marine and lacustrine waters was evaluated using DLVO theory and a term was included to account for the ferrimagnetic properties of greigite.

Iron Sulfides Formed from Aqueous Solution at Low Temperatures and Atmospheric Pressure

TL;DR: Several different iron sulfides have been synthesized from aqueous sulfide solutions at low temperatures (200-90° C.) and atmospheric pressure and identified by means of X-ray diffraction and/or chemical analysis as mentioned in this paper.

Equilibrium relations between pyrrhotite and pyrite from 325 degrees to 743 degrees C

R. G. Arnold
- 01 Jan 1962 -
TL;DR: The pyrrhotite solvus that represents the compositions of pyrhotite coexisting in equilibrium with pyrite was determined in the temperature range 325 degrees C to 743 degrees C by experiments conducted in sealed, evacuated, silica glass capsules as mentioned in this paper.
