Vibration Analysis of Circular Plates in Contact with Fluid: A Numerical Approach

TLDR
In this article, a mathematical formulation to obtain the non-dimensionalized added virtual mass incremental factor for uniform circular plate in contact with fluid is presented based on Rayleigh's quotient.
Abstract
A mathematical formulation to obtain the non-dimensionalized added virtual mass incremental factor for uniform circular plate in contact with fluid is presented Based on Rayleigh's quotient, the natural frequencies can be evaluated using the added virtual mass incremental factors A suitable approximation is used to describe the effect of non-dimensionalized added virtual mass incremental factors in the vibration analysis of circular plates The numerical results obtained from the present formulation are compared with the known results reported in the literature and a good agreement was found The maximum error percentage has been predicted from the present formulation is 0005%

Modeling added mass effects on the vibrations of air-backed, pre-deformed membranes

TL;DR: In this article, the authors focus on the vibrations of hydrostatically pre-deformed, air-backed membranes and derive the mode shapes of the membrane in vacuum using von Karman theory, and employ these mode shapes as an input to the potential flow problem.

A review on the fluid structure interaction of circular plates using numerical methods

TL;DR: The development of numerical methods to solve the fluid structure interaction problem deals with the vibration analysis of plate structures in contact with fluid.

An efficient solver for the fully coupled solution of large-displacement fluid–structure interaction problems

TL;DR: It is shown that block-triangular approximations of the Jacobian matrix, obtained by neglecting selected fluid–structure interaction blocks, provide good preconditioners for the solution of the linear systems with GMRES.

Free vibrations of circular plates coupled with liquids: revising the lamb problem

TL;DR: In this paper, the analytical and numerical approaches used to estimate the natural frequencies of circular plates in contact with a liquid were discussed, and the more accurate Rayleigh-Ritz solution of the problem was taken and compared to the results obtained by using the NAVMI factors.

Axisymmetric vibration of circular plates in contact with fluid

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of fluid on the natural frequencies of circular plates vibrating axisymmetrically in contact with fluid was investigated. And the authors obtained the non-dimensionalized added virtual mass incremental (NAVMI) factor for circular plates having simply supported, clamped and free edges using the integral transformation technique in conjunction with the dual integral equation method.
