TLDR
In this article, a new spectral element method is presented for the wave propagation analysis of frame structures, where the Laplace transform is applied instead of the Fast Fourier Transform, which has been used in the original spectral elements method.

Wave propagation modelling in 1D structures using spectral finite elements

TL;DR: In this paper, the spectral finite element (SFE) was applied to one-dimensional (1D) elastic wave propagation problems in an isotropic rod and a Timoshenko beam.

Wave propagation in mechanical waveguide with curved members using wave finite element solution

TL;DR: In this paper, the wave propagation in straight and curved mechanical waveguide is investigated and a numerical model is developed to determine the response of the intact or damaged waveguide structure which is subjected to the incident waves.

Experimental and numerical study on damage detection in an L-joint using guided wave propagation

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors considered longitudinal and flexural wave propagation in a steel L-joint and compared the usefulness of axial and flexurant wave propagation for non-destructive damage detection for this typical structural component.

Experimental and numerical studies of guided wave damage detection in bars with structural discontinuities

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of three discontinuities on wave propagation is discussed, and the applicability of longitudinal and flexural waves to non-destructive damage detection is investigated.

Numerical Laplace Transformation and Inversion

TL;DR: In this article, an efficient basis for the numerical manipulation of the Laplace transform for the purpose of solving transient problems which are not amenable to conventional analytic manipulation is presented, although the underlying material is not new, the manner of presentation is such as to expose important matters of detail.
