In this paper, the authors provide an introduction to the theory of propagation and the dynamics of mesoscale atmospheric masses and wave propagation in the field of radiophysics, as well as their role in the generation of clear air turbulence (CAT).Abstract:
Development in Atmospheric Science, 2
In recent years 'here has been increased
interest in mesoscale atmospheric waves as
newly developed atmospheric probes such as
radars and acoustic echo sounders have
made it possible to study these waves in
great detail. Numerous observations reported
in a rapidly expending literature on the
subject have demonstrated that these waves
are more than mere curiosities; in fact, they
can play an essential role in the generation of
some kinds of clear air turbulence (CAT), .
thus Creating a hazard to commercial aircraft;,
and they may be very important to the very
dynamics of the larger-scale atmospheric
circulation, This timely book provides the
interested meteorologist, radiophysicist. and
graduate student with a self-contained
introduction to the theory of propagation and
the dynamics of mesoscale atmospheric
waves.read more

Magneto-ionospheric effects of active experiments conducted on February 18, 2004
TL;DR: In this paper, the results of radiophysical and magnetometric observations of dynamical processes in the ionosphere and geomagnetic field that followed launches of four rockets of different power and made from different launching sites are analyzed.
Journal ArticleDOI
The influences of meteorological factors on the health and functional state of human
TL;DR: It was found that atmospheric pressure fluctuations have a stronger negative effect with periods of 120-1200 s and 20-120 s on psychological self-assessment and with periodsof 10-20 s and 5-10 s on sensory-motor reaction time than the fluctuations with other periods.

Short-period global atmospheric waves revealed by nightglow observations
Natalia Karpova,G. M. Shved,Svetlana Ermolenko,Petr Ammosov,Galina Gavrilyeva,E. N. Savenkova +5 more
TL;DR: The Lomb-Scargle method of spectral analysis for unevenly spaced data was applied over the 5-day windows sliding along a series with a 1-day step as discussed by the authors.
Acoustic response of a rectangular waveguide with a strong transverse temperature gradient
TL;DR: In this article, an acoustic wave equation was developed for a perfect gas with spatially variable temperature, and the response of a rectangular wave guide containing a thermally-stratified gas was analyzed.

TL;DR: In this paper , concentric gravity waves (CGWs) in the OH airglow emission over the Brazilian equatorial region are presented, with small-scale characteristics and well-defined concentric structures.
