An alternating copolymer of butadiene and a fluoroalkyl methacrylate homopolymer IIIf and its hydrogenated copolymers IIf were synthesized and identified in this article.
Abstract
An alternating copolymer of butadiene and a fluoroalkyl methacrylate If and its hydrogenated copolymer IIf were synthesized and identified. We designated these copolymers as widely-spaced comb-like polymers as we did the alkyl side chain copolymers in our previous paper [Polym. J., 15, 891 (1983)]. The fluoroalkyl methacrylate homopolymer IIIf is a brittle plastic but If and IIf are extensible elastomers. Although IIIf is soluble in benzotrifluoride only when warmed, If and IIf are soluble at room temperature. The cast films of If, IIf, and IIIf showed the same contact angles of water or n-alkane droplets. Differential scanning calorimetry study demonstrated the crystallization of the fluoroalkyl side chains of If and IIf in spite of their wide spaces. The fluoroalkyl side chains were found to be crystallizable more easily than the alkyl side chains of the same carbon atom numbers.

Structure and Surface Properties of Liquid Crystalline Fluoroalkyl Polyacrylates: Role of the Spacer

TL;DR: In this paper, the role played by the spacer group located in the side chain between the backbone and the fluorinated segment was investigated for poly[2-[[[[2-(perfluoroalkyl)ethyl]sulfonyl]methyl]amino]ethyl]acrylates (pASn).

Periodically clickable polyesters: study of intrachain self-segregation induced folding, crystallization, and mesophase formation.

TL;DR: These systems present a unique opportunity to develop interesting nanostructured polymeric materials with precise control over both the domain size and morphology; importantly, the domain sizes are far smaller than those typically observed in traditional block copolymers.

Method for controlled release of enzymatic reaction components

TL;DR: In this article, compositions and reaction kits are provided for controlling an enzymatic process. But they are not suitable for the control of PCR, and they are unsuitable for improving the specificity and performance of PCR.

Effect of polymer crystallinity on the wetting properties of certain fluoroalkyl acrylates

TL;DR: In this paper, the wetting properties of a series of polyacrylates containing the fluoroalkyl group have been studied and the results obtained in this study concerning the influence of polymer crystallinity on surface wetting are discussed in relation to the findings of Schonhorn and Ryan on the wettability of polyethylene single crystal aggregates.
