Abstract
This paper deals with an algorithm, based on wavelet-Alienation coefficients for protection of wind farm connected distribution network. The proposed algorithm takes the differential current signal of grid node and wind farm coupling node. The Wavelet transform used to extract the approximation coefficients of all the three-phase current signals. Alienation coefficients of each differential phase current obtained over a half cycle is used to identify and categorize the various faults. A modified IEEE13 bus test feeder system used for simulation in MATLAB. Proposed technique tested for detection of all shunt faults at each bus of the distribution system.

Fault diagnosis in distribution networks with distributed generation

TL;DR: In this paper, a multi-agent based scheme for fault diagnosis in power distribution networks with distributed generators is proposed, where relay agents measure the bus currents at which they are located such that it can detect and classify the fault, and determine the fault location.

Effects of the fault inception angle in fault-induced transients

TL;DR: In this article, the authors address the fault inception angle effects in the energies of the fault-induced transients in both voltages and currents by means of the wavelet coefficient energy analysis at the first three wavelet scales.

Detection and Classification of Faults in Power Transmission Lines Using Functional Analysis and Computational Intelligence

TL;DR: A new model to functionally represent the phases of a transmission line is proposed and shows that the proposed model detects faults very quickly, using a vastly simplified mathematical process, and is able to classify faults accurately.

A transient current based double line transmission system protection using fuzzy-wavelet approach in the presence of UPFC

TL;DR: A wavelet fuzzy based protection scheme for a double line transmission system with unified power flow controller that makes use of current signals at both the ends of transmission line which are synchronized with the help of global position system clock is presented.

Coordinating Overcurrent Protection and Voltage Sag in Distributed Generation Systems

TL;DR: In this article, the voltage sag magnitude is obtained taking into account the voltage drop across (ZI), and the normal coordination procedure is obtained by comparing the sensitive equipment (SE) dropout curve with the timevoltage characteristic (TVC) of the protective device.
