Abstract
The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) successor to the semigovernmental International Meteorological Organization (IMO) founded in 1879 was established in 1950 by ratification of the 1947 convention on the world organization for meteorology. The WMO consists of five main organs, the World Meteorological Congress , the Executive Council , six regional associations, eight technical commissions and the Secretariat . Within the framework of the WMO programmes national meteorological and hydrological services contribute substantially to protection against natural disasters, to safeguarding the environment and to enhancing the economic and social stability of different sectors of society in such areas as food security, water resources and transport. The World Weather Watch Programme , the most important of all WMO programmes, combines data processing and coordinates observation and communications systems that are operated by members, to put meteorological and connected geophysical information at the disposal of meteorological and hydrological services. Keywords: International Meteorological Organization (IMO); World Meteorological Congress ; World Meteorological Organization (WMO)

Simulating present-day climate with the INMCM4.0 coupled model of the atmospheric and oceanic general circulations

TL;DR: The INMCM3.0 climate model has formed the basis for the development of a new climate-model version as discussed by the authors, which is called the InMCM4.0. It differs from the previous version in that there is an increase in its spatial resolution and some changes in the formulation of coupled atmosphere-ocean general circulation models.

Water for a Sustainable World

TL;DR: The 2015 World Water Development Report as mentioned in this paper sets both an aspirational and a realistic vision for the future of water towards 2050, which comes at a critical moment, when freshwater resources face rising pressure to provide for the social, economic and environmental needs of a growing world population.

Dynamics, Stratospheric Ozone, and Climate Change

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors quantify the predictable, or deterministic, component of past ozone changes, especially in the northern hemisphere where there appears to be significant low-frequency variability which can look "trend-like" on decadal time scales.

Climate Change and the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction

TL;DR: This article reviewed climate change in the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030 (SFDRR), analyzing how climate change is mentioned in the framework's text and the potential implications for dealing with climate change within the context of disaster risk reduction.
