It is caused by diverse vegetation in Tanah Merah.
Firstly, results support the use of SAVIs in environments with a single vegetation type.
The resulting vegetation classes correspond to many of the existing, conventional global vegetation schemes, yet retain the measure of actual vegetation possible because remote sensing first defines the six biome classes in our classification.
Results show that the vegetation cover types have changed and there is evidence of vegetation convergence.
