TL;DR: In this paper, an adjustable base for a portable saw and a portable was presented, which includes a longitudinal shell secured to the housing, and mounted to a baseplate, and a shaft is mounted to the shell extending through a slot formed in the shell.
Abstract: The present invention discloses an adjustable base for a portable saw and a portable saw therefore. The base includes a longitudinal shell secured to the housing, and mounted to a baseplate. A shaft is mounted to the housing extending through a slot formed in the shell. A collar is connected to the shaft and has a first cam surface cooperating with a corresponding second cam surface of the housing. Rotation of the collar in an unlocked direction extends the shaft away from the housing. A clamp member is received within a shell inner region and cooperates with the shaft. The shaft is threadably engaged to one of the collar, the housing or the clamp member so that rotation of the collar in the unlocked direction either extends the shaft further away from the housing or extends the clamp member along the shaft away from the housing.

TL;DR: In this article, a spouted container (10) is described for storing fluids and transferring the stored fluids to a fluid receiving receptacle such as a lawn mower fluid reservoir (R).
Abstract: A spouted container (10) constructed in accordance with a preferred embodiment of the present invention and configured for storing fluids and transferring the stored fluids to a fluid receiving receptacle such as a lawn mower fluid reservoir (R) is disclosed. The illustrated spouted container (10) broadly includes a storage container (12), a self-venting spout (14) removably coupled to the container (12), a collar (16) for removably coupling the spout (14) to the container (12), and a cap (18) for closing the spout (14) and/or the container (12). The collar (16) cooperates with an inventive sealing disc (32) and a neck (24) to create a gasket-less seal between the spout (14) and the storage container (12) that is adjustable yet prevents undesirable fluid leakage when the spout (14) is in either a pour or a storage position. The spout (14) is a self-venting spout that includes an air-venting passageway (34) formed in part by a flange (60). The inventive flanged configuration of the passageway (34) diverts fluid away from the distal-most end (34a) of the passageway (34) thereby enabling fluid to not only smoothly flow, but also to rapidly flow out of the internal chamber (22) under the influence of gravity when the spout (14) is open in the pour position and the storage container (12) is at least partially inverted.

TL;DR: In this article, a needle-protective housing is fitted to the neck of a medicament container, for example a glass vial, that has a circumferential notch formed at a proximal portion of the neck.
Abstract: A needle protective housing is fitted to the neck of a medicament container, for example a glass vial, that has a circumferential notch formed at a proximal portion of the neck. The needle protective device has a needle protective housing pivotally connected to a cup-shaped collar. The collar has a base that is formed by a plurality of coplanar extensions, that in turn form an aperture that allows the base to be press-fitted onto the neck of the vial. The extensions are each separated by a space, so that the extensions would give way when the collar is slidedly fitted along the length of the neck of the vial, until the extensions reach the notch at the proximal end of the neck of the vial where the extensions return to the original shape to thereby couple the collar to the vial.

TL;DR: In this article, a method of manufacturing an automatically opening medical device package containing a medical device is presented, which includes positioning the medical device on an upper surface of a flexible sheet of material that also has a lower surface, and first and second ends.
Abstract: An automatically opening medical device package that includes upper and lower flexible sheet portions, each having distal and proximal ends and first and second peripheral edges. These flexible sheet portions are adapted to be detachably sealed together along their peripheral edges, thereby providing for the enclosure of a medical device. Also included is a collar attached to the distal ends such that a relative movement of the collar and the proximal ends, that decreases a distance therebetween, causes the flexible sheet portions to pull apart, opening the package. A method of manufacturing an automatically opening medical device package containing a medical device includes positioning a medical device on an upper surface of a flexible sheet of material that also has a lower surface, and first and second ends. Upper and lower collar precursors are attached to the lower surfaces of the first and second ends, respectively. The flexible sheet of material is subsequently folded end-over-end about the medical device, thereby forming upper and lower flexible sheet portions (each with distal and proximal ends) that enclose the medical device. The flexible sheet portions are then detachably sealed together. The collar precursors are rolled-back across the flexible sheet portions, operatively aligned, and sealed together to form a collar that is attached to the distal ends such that a relative movement of the collar and the proximal ends, that decreases a distance therebetween, results in a pulling apart of the flexible sheet portions, thereby exposing at least a portion of the medical device.

TL;DR: In this article, a locking assembly with a substantially joined bracket assembly is described, where the front and back plates are fixedly attached to the bracket and the pivot is fixed to the back plates such that the upper and lower legs are free to move within a defined boundary about the pivot.
Abstract: A locking assembly having a substantially joined bracket assembly with a front and back plate defining an opening therebetween with a top slot and a side slot. At least the back plate is directly or indirectly fixedly attached to a solid surface. Positioned within side slot is a pivoting release lever having an upper leg and lower leg movable about a pivot. The pivot is fixedly attached to the front and back plates such that the upper and lower legs are free to move within the opening between the front and back plates within a defined boundary about the pivot. The locking assembly further includes a collar assembly having a collar assembly plate of a size and shape to fit edgewise and be guided into the opening between the front and bottom plates via the top slot. A collar extending from the front surface of the collar assembly plate is attached to a device. The upper leg of the pivoting release lever is positioned adjacent the inserted collar assembly plate and collar in order to pivot and restrain movement of the collar assembly (and device) when the collar assembly plate and collar are inserted into the opening and a front plate opening of the bracket assembly. When a force is applied to the pivoting release lever, the lower leg of the pivoting release lever acts to dislodge the plate and collar (and device) from the openings within the bracket assembly.
