TL;DR: The results of the dynamic loading of a cantilever by magneto-motive loading, explosive loading and by high bullet speed impact are compared with the predictions of simple theory which assumes that the load is impulsive as discussed by the authors.

TL;DR: In this paper, the nonlinear equations describing axisymmetric finite amplitude response of a thin elastic clamped edge circular plate to pulse loading are solved by finite difference techniques for the case of a spatially uniform load which time-wise is represented as a step function.
Abstract: The nonlinear equations describing axisymmetric finite amplitude response of a thin elastic clamped edge circular plate to pulse loading are solved by finite difference techniques for the case of a spatially uniform load which time- wise is represented as a step function. Damping of the plate is considered.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors obtained stress-strain and fracture data for rocks under a variety of loading conditions, including quasi-static triaxial stress conditions and biaxial loading conditions.
Abstract: : The object of the research presented in this report was to obtain stress-strain and fracture data for rocks under a variety of loading conditions. Rocks were tested under quasi-static triaxial stress conditions with a variety of loading paths. Strain rate effects and biaxial loading conditions were included in the experiments. In addition, tests were performed with pre-cracked rock specimens in which the complet strain history was obtained. Descriptions of the apparatus and test methods are included, as well as experimental results from each phase of the program. (Author)
