TL;DR: In this article, a temperature sensitive electrical switching device includes a heat fusible electrically conductive pellet which melts and provides an electrical path through a switching device at a predetermined temperature level and, further, includes arc contacts defining an air gap across which arcing will occur when a sufficient potential is supplied to the switching device.
Abstract: A normally open temperature sensitive electrical switching device includes a heat fusible electrically conductive pellet which melts and provides an electrically conductive path through the switching device at a predetermined temperature level and, further, includes arc contacts defining an air gap across which arcing will occur when a sufficient potential is supplied to the switching device. A first electrically conductive electrode and second electrically conductive electrode are electrically connected to first and second electrical leads provided for an electrical connection to the device. A nonconductive mounting arrangement holds the first and second electrodes in spaced relation. The heat fusible conductive pellet is positioned in contact with the second electrode and defines the air gap of predetermined dimension with the first electrode. Current will therefore flow between the first and second electrical leads when the voltage across the air gap is sufficient to cause arcing or when the fusible pellet is heated to its predetermined fusion temperature.

TL;DR: A circuit board component is a cylindrical element which has portions of its outer surface affixed with an electrically conductive material which material is formed with a plurality of serrations as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: A circuit board component, specifically a capacitor, which is configured to be machine-insertable into apertures of a circuit board to make a solderless electrical connection to electrical conductors positioned on and in the circuit board. The component is a cylindrical element which has portions of its outer surface affixed with an electrically conductive material which material is formed with a plurality of serrations. The serrations are designed to cut through and to make a force fit, gas tight, seal with the walled portions and the electrical conductors of a circuit board. The electrically conductive material also either forms a part of the component, such as capacitor plates and/or provides a contact surface for the connecting of an internally-mounted electrical component. An indexing means positioned on one end of the cylindrical element provides a mechanical indexing to insure the correct orientation of the component with regard to corresponding electrical contacts on the circuit board. A flange member extending from one end of the cylindrical element provides a stop in order to insure proper alignment of the component when the component is inserted into a circuit board by automatic means.

TL;DR: In this paper, a modular test tray is comprised of individual modules solidly detachably secured together and shorting straps for rapid and easy electrical connection between modules, which can be used for replacing worn out modules and to allow variance of the test tray size to accommodate multiple lots, sizes and value splits of components.
Abstract: A modular test tray is comprised of individual modules solidly detachably secured together and shorting straps for rapid and easy electrical connection between modules. Each module is comprised of two tuning fork shaped connector pins embedded in the module and capable of detachable mechanical and electrical engagement with the shorting straps. Two posts capable of receiving electrical components to be tested are also embedded in the module and electrically connected to the connector pins. The posts protrude from the top of the module while the connector pins are recessed in grooves on the bottom of the module. Shorting straps consisting of intermittent strips of electrical conducting material, the strips being of sufficient length to electrically connect only two connector pins of adjoining modules and spaced apart so as to electrically connect consecutive pairs of connector pins, allows a series electrical connection of the components to be tested. Shorting straps consisting of continuous electrical conducting material allow a parallel electrical connection of the components to be tested. The individual modules are selectively detachably mounted together to provide easy replacement of worn out modules and to allow variance of the test tray size to accommodate multiple lots, sizes and value splits of components.

TL;DR: A pressure sensitive electrical contact member which completes an electrical connection between the first electrical conductor and a second electrical conductor in response to relative pressure exerted thereon by the two conductors is used as an insulating sleeve which surrounds that portion of an electroplating rack upon which the articles to be plated are supported as discussed by the authors.
Abstract: A pressure sensitive electrical contact member which surrounds a first electrical conductor and completes an electrical connection between the first conductor and a second electrical conductor in response to relative pressure exerted thereon by the two conductors. As an example, the pressure sensitive electrical contact member may be used as an insulating sleeve which surrounds that portion of an electro-plating rack upon which the articles to be plated are supported. The sleeve includes a pressure sensitive electrical contact portion which is normally nonconductive but becomes conductive when the article to be plated is placed on the rack so as to complete an electrical connection between the article and the rack. Because only substantially that portion of the pressure sensitive electrical contact that the article contacts is electrically conductive, the effects of parasitic plating on the rack are greatly minimized.
