TL;DR: Escherichia coli RNA was hybridized to E. coli DNA over a wide range of RNA/ DNA inputs † : from ratios so low (less than 1 1000 ) that not all copies of any DNA site were filled, to RNA/DNA inputs so high (greater than 1000) that no more RNA could be bound.

TL;DR: Ritonuclease-resistant hybrids have been formed between 32P-labelled ribosomal RNA from a transplantable rat hepatoma and DNA from various rat tissues, using the technique of annealing RNA in solution with DNA held immobilised on a nitrocellulose membrane.
