TL;DR: In this article, a dry matter dispensing device comprising a hopper having a paddle pivoted between the front and rear walls, the paddle is oscillated to sweep the contents from the opposite ends of an arcuate, concave tray with each stroke thereof.
Abstract: A dry matter dispensing device comprising a hopper having a paddle pivoted between the front and rear walls, the paddle is oscillated to sweep the contents from the opposite ends of an arcuate, concave tray with each stroke thereof. The dry material slides down a pair of adjustably sloped panels on opposite sides of that paddle so that, as the paddle sweeps material in front of it on each stroke, more is dropping down the sloped panel behind it to pile up on the concave tray. Hence, a measured amount of the dry material is delivered by setting the length and number of paddle strokes. The adjustment of the sloping panels is made to ensure free flow to the concave tray without the material bridging or escaping prematurely from the tray.

TL;DR: An enclosed finishing vat for cheese making is described in this paper, where an agitating unit reciprocates along the length of the vat, and the arm is rotated such that the stirring paddles lead in the direction of rotation and stir the curd, while the unloading paddles trail and float on the cudgel.
Abstract: An enclosed finishing vat for cheese making. The vat has a generally oval configuration and an agitating unit is mounted for reciprocating movement on a frame above the vat and includes a vertical drive shaft that extends through a slot in the top of the vat. The lower end of the drive shaft carries a rotatable support arm and at each end of the arm both a stirring paddle and an unloading paddle are pivotally mounted. The stirring paddle and unloading paddle extend in opposite directions from the respective end of the arm. In operation, the agitating unit reciprocates along the length of the vat, and the arm is rotated such that the stirring paddles lead in the direction of rotation and stir the curd, while the unloading paddles trail and float on the curd. To unload the curd from the vat, a discharge opening in the bottom of the vat is opened and the direction of rotation of the arm is reversed, whereby the unloading paddles lead in the direction of rotation and scrape along the bottom of the vat and deliver the curd through the discharge opening.

TL;DR: In this paper, a paddle is arranged below the shoot and high pressure air is injected along the surface of the paddle to provide a dispersed distribution of refuse into the furnace and improve an efficiency of combustion.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a dispersed distribution of refuse into the furnace and improve an efficiency of combustion by a method wherein a paddle is arranged below the shoot and high pressure air is injected along the surface of the paddle. CONSTITUTION:When refuse is dropped into the refuse shoot 3 while the paddle 19 is oscillated and the high pressure air is injected from each of the upper nozzle 15 and the lower nozzle 16, the refuse is blown forwardly under a striking action caused by the oscillation of the paddle 19 and at the same time the refuse is dispersed under the striking action, struck against the high pressure air flowed along the striking surface of the paddle 19 and the high pressure air flowed along the inclined bottom surface of the feeding port 2. The refuse is moved along the flow of the high pressure air and flows into the furnace at the feeding port 2. Thereby, it is made possible to provide a uniform dispersion of refuse in the furnace and then to improve an efficiency of combustion.

TL;DR: In this article, the leading edge of a paper which is fed through a gap between a heating roller 12 and a pressing roller 14, is bit between a paper discharging roller 16 and a pinch roller 18.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable a discharged paper detecting means to be always actuated with a constant amount, in a paper discharging device for a copying machine, by providing a paper discharging paddle for urging a paper toward the discharged paper detecting means, coaxially wit the rotary shaft of a paper discharging roller and in the vicinity of the discharged paper detecting means. CONSTITUTION:The leading edge of a paper which is fed through a gap between a heating roller 12 and a pressing roller 14, is bit between a paper discharging roller 16 and a pinch roller 18. At this time, paddle members 38 in a paper discharging paddle 36 urge the paper P toward an upper paper guide plate 40 from the lower side, and therefore, the paper P is fed out by the above-mentioned rollers 16, 18 while the paper is slid on the paper guide plate 40 by means of the paddle members 38. During this period the paper P is pushed up toward a discharged paper detecting lever 28 since the forward of the paddle members 38 extend from the contact surface of the paper discharging roller 16 in the vicinity of the above-mentioned lever 28. Accordingly, the above-mentioned lever 28 is always rotated to a constant amount through the paper P even if the rigidity of the paper is weak, so that a detector attendant with the lever 28 surely issues a signal.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed to prevent a variation of a charging value of a developer due to standing time by separating a paddle and a blender placed in a developing device, from a copier driving system, connecting them to a separate motor, and stirring the developer at the time of noncopying.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent a variation of a charging value of a developer due to standing time, by separating a paddle and a blender placed in a developing device, from a copier driving system, connecting them to a separate motor, and stirring the developer at the time of noncopying. CONSTITUTION:A developing roll 2 in a housing 1 is connected to a driving system of a copying machine through a gear mechanism 6, and is rotated by synchronizing with a photosensitive body 5. A paddle 3 and a blender 4 are connected to a variable speed driving motor 8 through a gear mechanism 7. The motor 8 is driven at a speed matching a rotating speed of the roll 2 at the time of copying by a controlling circuit, is driven for a constant interval of time at the time of noncopying, and is driven at a higher speed than that of the roll 2, when an electric power supply is turned on. Therefore, since a developer is stirred at the time of noncopying and when the electric power supply is turned on, a variation of a charging value is prevented, copying picture density is kept constant at all times, and a satisfactory copy is obtained.
